The biggest regret expressed by the audience who watched Priscilla perform “Magical Wonder with Birds” at the Jurong BirdPark on 27 June 2009 was “Why is this a one-time performance only?”
For many of the audience, this was their first time watching a magic show, and, needless to say, they were wowed and bowled over by Priscilla’s world class acts which had earned Lawrence and Priscilla success and recognition in Hollywood and among the international magic fraternity.
Parents with young children who were not as enthusiastic about the sharp knives and fireworks on stage were won over by Priscilla’s charisma with her feathered friends. “I enjoyed the concerted effort to include parrots, owls and other gorgeous birds into the show,” blogged one viewer after the show.
The star among Priscilla’s feathery assistants was not a colourful or exotic bird but an ordinary chicken (or rooster, the audience could not decide). This co-operative avian was teleported from a locked box to a bucket held by an audience volunteer standing five metres away! Several bloggers went on the Net asking how it was done. Their questions remained unanswered to this day.
Priscilla’s ‘magic in motion’ brand of performance once again differentiated her from the scores of illusionists seen on tv and in theatres. The audience was charmed by the way she was able to weave music and dance into her magic acts. “Professionalism” and “showmanship” were some of the accolades piled on the First Female Illusionist after the show.
