Huat Ah! CNY+Cards Night was a blast!

Pineapple tarts, loveletters, and other goodies as well as ostentatious decorations of hanging pineapples and red chiffon greeted our MC members as they stepped into our office pantry for our first official gathering – CNY and Cards Night! Familiar tunes of “gong xi fa cai” played in the background added to the festive mood (much to annoyance of some) as everyone happily munched on the goodies and mingled around. Ahh…it felt like Chinese New Year already, although the actual celebrations is still a week away. It was like a family gathering of sorts to see many familiar faces, like Mr Heng, Shupei and Shirley, among many others.

We started the gathering with the traditional “lo hei”. Huat ah!

Notice the clean hands and eyes gleaming with excitement at the delicious display of raw fish and garnishes.

It was a different story 15 seconds later as many retreated to take cover from the “yu-sheng” avalanche.

Too much leftover cards?

A few months ago, i discovered a video on how to make a box out of leftover playing cards.

I’m sure you know what i’m talking about, the lingering pieces of Bicycle decks that are all over your house.

Kai, has been very kind and used some of his lingering extra bits and pieces of cards to make a modified version of the box for us.

Pretty cool eh? (Notice he uses the split spades and ghost deck too!)

Here’s another box in the works!

You can use ANY kind of Decks,  Bikes, Tally Hos and if you have too many Jerry’s Nuggets, by all means…

Waste of cards? Hardly… Try making one today!
